Alem Abubakirova joined U.S. Consulate Almaty as a SABIT program coordinator for Central Asia in June 2018. Prior to this she worked as a Sustainable Development Manager at gold-mining company JSC “Kazakhaltyn” from 2016-2017. Before that, as an Investment and Export Development Specialist at the National export and investment promotion agency “KaznexInvest”. She is a recipient of “Bolashak” Presidential Scholarship and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy and Management, York University, Canada.
