In Central Asia, during the past three years, UNDP’s Aid for Trade initiative has supported well over US$400 million worth of export contracts and supported leveraging over US$14 mln in export finance. Over 90 000 people directly benefited from activities from the project, and 1000 jobs were created out of which nearly 50% were women. UNDP’s Aid for Trade project works to help businesses grow and improve trade in Central Asia. Funded by the Government of Finland, the project supports entrepreneurs and producers to expand their businesses and create jobs; supports trade institutions to develop better services to serve their clients; and helps to create a vision for trade policy that includes employment generation and sustainability.
